Sustainability & healthy homes

Beautiful homes that are healthy to live in.

Healthier air and responsible materials, explained honestly, no greenwashing. We tell you what we use, why it matters, and exactly what we do and do not claim.

01
01 / Healthy home air

The air inside matters more than the finish.

New interiors can quietly off-gas for months. The two biggest sources are the engineered boards in your wardrobes and kitchen, and the paints on your walls. Here is how we keep both low.

E0 / E1 boards as standard

E0 and E1 are the low-formaldehyde grades for plywood, MDF and particle board. We specify them as our default and put the manufacturer grade and certificate on your Bill of Quantities, not in fine print.

Low-VOC paints & finishes

VOCs are the solvents that give fresh paint its strong smell and keep off-gassing afterwards. We specify low-VOC paints and finishes where the range and your budget allow, and we name the product and its VOC band on the quote.

What this means for your family

Formaldehyde is classified by the WHO as a Group 1 carcinogen, and it is released slowly by ordinary engineered wood and some adhesives. Choosing E0 / E1 boards and low-VOC finishes lowers what your home releases into the air, especially in the first few months when a new fit-out off-gasses the most. It is a meaningful reduction, not a claim of zero, and we will always tell you the difference.

02
02 / Responsible materials

Sourced with care, built to last.

Responsible is not only about where a material comes from, it is also about how long it lasts. A build that survives Chennai humidity for a decade is a build you do not have to tear out and replace.

FSC / certified wood where available

Where a certified option exists for the board or solid wood you need, we offer it and keep the certificate on record. Where it does not, we say so.

Durable build means less waste

BWP-grade ply, sound hardware and honest joinery last longer. The most sustainable interior is the one you are not redoing in five years.

Anti-fungal, coastal-grade finishes

Chennai is humid and termite-prone. We use moisture-resistant boards and anti-fungal, termite-treated finishes so the work holds up by the coast.

03 / Energy-smart

Light it well, run it lean.

Good lighting is a design choice and an energy choice. We plan in lumens, not guesswork, so you get the brightness each room needs from efficient LED fixtures, instead of over-lighting and paying for it every month.

Efficient LED throughout. Warm, dimmable LED that draws a fraction of older lighting for the same brightness.

Lumens planned per room. Layered task, ambient and accent lighting sized to the space, not a fixed fitting count.

Daylight first. We plan around natural light so you reach for the switch less during the day.

04 / Our honest stance

No greenwashing. Here is the line.

Sustainability claims are easy to make and hard to keep. So we are specific about what we will say and what we will never say. If we cannot substantiate it, it does not go on your quote or this page.

What we say

We do claim

  • "E0 / low-emission" boards with the grade stated on your BOQ.
  • "Low-VOC" paints with the product and VOC band named.
  • "Certified where available" with the certificate on record.
  • "Coastal-grade, anti-fungal" finishes suited to Chennai humidity.
  • "Energy-smart lighting" planned in lumens with efficient LED.
What we won't

We never claim

  • Literal "zero" no engineered wood is truly zero formaldehyde or VOC.
  • Vague badges "eco", "green" or "non-toxic" with nothing behind them.
  • Borrowed certification for materials that are not actually certified.
  • Health outcomes or medical benefits we cannot stand behind.
  • A goal as a fact something we are still working towards, dressed up.

we would rather under-claim and over-deliver

05
05 / Questions, answered

Healthy-home questions, answered honestly.

Are your materials low-emission?
As standard we use E0 and E1 grade engineered boards, the low-formaldehyde classifications. We say E0 or low-emission, never literal zero, because no engineered wood is truly free of formaldehyde. The grade is stated on your Bill of Quantities and backed by the manufacturer certificate in your dashboard.
What about VOCs in paint?
We specify low-VOC paints and finishes wherever the product range and your budget allow, and we name the product and its VOC band on the quote. Low-VOC reduces the strong solvent smell and the off-gassing after painting. It does not mean no odour at all, so we still recommend airing out freshly painted rooms.
Is the wood certified?
Where an FSC or equivalent certified option exists for the board or solid wood you need, we offer it and keep the certificate on record. Certified supply is not available for every material in every grade, so we are honest about when we can source it and when we cannot, rather than implying everything is certified.
Do you greenwash?
No. We only publish claims we can substantiate with a certificate, a product datasheet or a record in your dashboard. We avoid absolute words like zero, eco or non-toxic, we grade what we can prove, and anything we are still working towards is described as a goal, not a finished claim.
